Side Table
In collaboration with HMC Amsterdam and Museum ‘T Schip I designed a side table I inspired by the beautiful art movement Amsterdamse School. An art movement within architects from 1910 to 1930. Known for its decorative brick work, expressionist forms; the use of round and curved lines, laddered windows, vertical and horizontal articulation, and rich detailing.
Before I start to design, I walked around in Museum ‘T Schip, a museum build completely in the style of the Amsterdamse School. Here I could see the style in visual representation instead of it described on paper. This helped my recognizing key feature of the typical architecture.
Back at school I transfered the use of bricks, playfull features, round shapes and colors in to a small side table.
